    Adet kanamasından 14 gün sonra yumurtlama olduktan sonra yumurtalıktan progesteron hormonu salgılanır. Progesteron hormonu 12-13 gün salgılandıktan sonra hormon salgılayan ünite eskimeye başlar ve progesteron seviyesi düşer. Bu düşme ile adet kanaması başlar. Bu dönemde progesteron desteği ile adet geciktirilebilir. Ancak hormon ilaçlarının kullanılması, kullanım süresi ve dozu, kişisel bazı faktörlerden etkilenir.
