    Bebek hareketleri ortalama 20 haftadan sonra hissedilir. Daha önce doğum yapmış kadınlar ve zayıf olanlar daha erken, ilk gebeliği olanlar ve kilolu kadınlar daha geç hissedebilir. Eskiden ultrason olmadığı zamanlarda son adet tarihini hatırlayamayan kadınlarda doğum tarihini hesaplamak için bebek hareketlerinin başladığı zaman 20 hafta kabul edilirmiş. Ancak bebek hareketlerinin az hissedilmesi veya hissedilmesinin gecikmesi kötü bir durumun belirtisi olarak kabul edilmez.
