    Erkek arkadaşınız içinize başalmamış bile olsa çıplak olarak birlikte olduğunuz düşünülürse hamile olmadığınıza emin olmak mümkün değil. Muhtemelen gebelik değil başka bir neden olmalı. Ancak gerek gebeliği ekarte etmek, gerekse adet gecikmesinin nedenini belirleyip tedavi etmek için muayene olmanız şarttır. Adet 1 haftadan fazla geciktiğinde önem verilmesi gereken yumurtalık kistleri olasılığı fazladır.
