Gebelik testleri de diğer bütün laboratuvar testleri gibi muayeneden sonra muayeneyi yapan doktorun uygun görmesi ile yapılabilir. Test sonuçları yine muayene yapan doktor tarafından ve muayene bulguları göz önüne alınarak değerlendirilir. Muayene olmaksızın kendi kendinize yaptığınız idrarda gebelik tesi veya yaptırdığınız kanda beta hCG testi, yanılmalara neden olabilir.
