    Psikiyatri veya  diğer branş tanıları mutlaka ilgili branş hekiminin muayenesi sonucu konmalıdır. Bipolar bozukluk tanısı konulduktan sonra da atak olmadığı dönemlerde dahil belirli aralıklarla mutlaka psikiyatri hekimine muayene olmalıdır hem hastalığın takibi hem de tedavinin düzenlenmesi için gereklidir. Bipolar bozuklukta kullanılan ilaçlar hastaya başlanmadan önce mutlaka yapılması gereken kan tahlilleri vardır ve bazı ilaçlar da ilaç kan düzeyi takibi ile dozuna karar verilir. Tanınızın netleşmesi, kullanılacak ilacın seçilmesi, bu ilaçları kullanmanıza engel kan tahlil sonuçlarının olup olmadığının anlaşılması için mutlaka psikiyatri hekimine başvurmalısınız.
