    HIV, bulaşmadan sonra çok uzun süre. hatta yıllraca pozitif hale gelmeden gizli kalabilir. Bu nedenle erken dönem paniğini geçirip bundan sonra altı ayda bir testi tekrarlamanız en iyisi olur. Testi önümüzdeki 7 yıl daha yaptırmanızı öneririm. HIV'nin bulaşmadan yedi yıl sonra pozitifleştiği görülmüştür.
