    Adet gecikmesi gebeliğin en geçerli belirtisi olarak kabul edilir. Diğer bir deyişle yetişkin bir kadında adet gecikmesi durumunda öncelikle gebelik üzerinde durulmalıdır. Diğer belirtiler de gebeliğe işaret ediyor. Bunların tümü gelecek olan adetin belirtisi de olabilir. Ancak gebelik olasılığı mutlaka ekarte edilmelidir. Zaten 1 haftadan daha uzun süreli gecikmelerin mutlaka değerlendirilmesi gerekir. Bu yüzden muayene olmanızda yarar var.
